On Perez Hilton and Miss Califronia

This unusual bloggerPerez Hilton (real name Mario Lavandeira for those who don't know) has, with one sentence, brought the Miss USA pageant to new lows, as if sponsorship by Donald Trump hadn't done that already. The question he asked to Miss California, namely whether she approved of gay marriage or not, was intended to draw her into controversy given her background. Furthermore, it's amazing how, in the days after the contest, he can get away with calling this lovely, brave Miss California, Carrie Prejean, the b-word and the c-word, which are the female equivalents of the N-word. Heaven forbid if someone publicly called him the f-word (I mean the three letter one). That person would be chastised endlessly, despite the fact that Hilton has referred to himself using that word on numerous occasions.

Miss Prejean did not indicate any animosity toward homosexuals, nor did she call for any bans on the freedom of gays to unite. She only stated her personal beliefs regarding a timeless institution. She stated proudly what her parents, religion, and value system taught to her. And I would venture to say many of the women on that stage had similar beliefs, though none were "blessed" with that same question being asked to them.

The colorful Mr Hilton was asked afterward Why he penalized Miss California for telling the truth? He answered,"Look it, Miss USA is supposed to be inclusive. I gave her a question. She's supposed to dance around it." Great, so now being wimpy, vague and untrue to ones beliefs is the acceptable norm? If so, I'm proud to be abnormal. It's been said by many critics that the banality and showiness of these televised pageants are not helpful to the self esteem to women. If political correctness is going to be the standard by which women are going to be judged, then I believe Perez Hilton made this contest far more demeaning to women than any bikini or evening gown revue ever could.

I'll get my head checked Jeanane

Looks like Jeanane Garofalo, already being a proud spokesperson for liberalism and socialism, has decided to branch out into the world of neurology. She said the following yesterday, referring to conservatives: ""Their synapses are misfiring. ... It is a neurological problem we are dealing with..."

Well, Jeanane, thanks to your awareness of brain disease, I fully intend to have my frontal lobes scanned as soon as possible, to see if this is the case with me. Because even though I'm more of a libertarian, you never know. Some of those crazy thoughts on the right side of my brain might be congealing into a nasty ole tumor. Maybe if I get that thing removed, I'll turn into a lefty and learn to love overzealous government and fork over my taxes in peace. Actually, only a lobotomy would make me that stupid.

I'm glad at least one liberal is looking out for us conservatives. Maybe next one of you will do public service announcements to remind all of us that we need colonoscopies too. But if so, they shouldn't worry about the President. Most of the mainstream media has already been so far up his *** and haven't seemed to find anything unusual.
